To the citizens of Parker and Wise Counties:
During my campaign for State Representative, I have had the privilege of meeting many new friends. I entered this race to send a message: that those who are elected to serve us should make our local issues their top priority. That message has been delivered. It’s now up to the voters to make sure it has been received.
I did not anticipate the level of negativity this campaign reached. Those who know me understand that is not my personality - I take pride in my record as a public servant, which has been to unite rather than to divide. I am disappointed that this campaign increased the division within the Republican Party. My intent from the beginning was to offer a choice in how we are represented. I believe I made the right decision.
To those who supported me in this journey, I extend my public appreciation for your loyalty. Together, we brought issues to the forefront that need the attention of those we elect and I’m asking you to help ensure those issues don’t get pushed aside.
This endeavor brings to a close my opportunity to be a public servant for over 48 years. It has been an incredible privilege to be of service to so many. The rewards of this service have been awesome. Thank each and every one of you that have been a part of it.
God bless you on your journey in life.
